A2HOSTING VS BLUEHOST REVIEW
Comparing A2 Hosting & BlueHost
When choosing BlueHost vs A2 Hosting for your website and business needs, it's helpful to understand both companies offer similar product offerings. Both companies offer Shared Hosting, Cloud Hosting, VPS Hosting, Dedicated Hosting and Domain Registration. These services are perfect for users concerned with scalability. Additionally, both A2 Hosting and BlueHost also specialize in hosting WordPress and WooCommerce solutions.
A key difference in product offerings is that A2 Hosting offers Reseller Hosting, while BlueHost doesn't. Reseller Hosting is perfect for users who are looking to launch their own hosting business or host their own customers. Additionally, A2 Hosting offers both Unmanaged and Managed VPS solutions to service two entirely different customer needs. The Unmanaged VPS is perfect for experienced developers while the Managed VPS is the perfect upgrade from a Shared Hosting account for users who need more power and resources.
- Bluehost is an officially recommended hosting provider by WordPress.org. It was founded 2003, and currently hosts over a million websites from all around the globe.
A2 Hosting is a leading developer-friendly hosting company that provides all the features you need to get your site up and running. They also allow you to choose your preferred data center when signing up for their hosting services.
Best of all, A2 Hosting provides an anytime pro-rated money back guarantee if you’re not fully satisfied.
If speed and performance, partnered with support and security, are at all priorities in your web host shopping, A2 Hosting should be a leading contender. When A2 Hosting first launched in 2003, the company was focused on serving developers; A2 Hosting was among the first providers to offer PHP 5 and to support Ruby on Rails on shared servers. A2 Hosting was also one of the first to offer hosting with high-speed solid-state drives,
Bluehost vs. A2 Hosting – Page Speed and Uptime
Speed and uptime are the most important factors you’ll need to consider when choosing a web host. Almost every hosting provider guarantees super fast website speeds and high website availability. To test whether Bluehost and A2 Hosting actually live up to their hype, we decided to analyze their page speeds and uptime guarantees by signing up with each of them and creating 2 test sites.
We also installed a WordPress theme, added dummy content, and uploaded some images to mirror a live environment on our websites. Then, we conducted a few different speed tests with the following tools:
- Pingdom
- Load Impact
- Bitcatcha
However, our A2 Hosting site took 1.28 seconds to load, meaning the site was only faster than 84% of all tested sites.
It’s also important to analyze if hosting servers can survive a traffic surge. For our traffic surge test, we used a tool called Load Impact. We sent some virtual users to our sites and gradually built up to 100 visitors at a time to see how the servers performed.
According to our Load Impact test, the number of live visitors didn’t have any negative impact on Bluehost
On the other hand, our A2 Hosting test site performed consistently until there were around 40 visitors on the site. The website slowed down for a while and then reverted to its normal state.
After our Load Impact test, we conducted a test with Bitcatcha to monitor the server response times from 8 different geographical locations: New York, LA, London, Brazil, India, Singapore, Japan, and Australia.
The speed for each location was measured 3 separate times, and then the results were averaged.
Winner: Bluehost

Bluehost vs. A2 Hosting – Support and Documentation
Bluehost provides 24/7 support via live chat and phone. To focus on providing direct support via live chat and phone, they’ve discontinued email-based support. That means, if you’re too busy to wait for an agent to respond via live chat, you won’t be able to get your support query solved.
A2 Hosting provides 24/7 support via 3 modes: live chat, phone, and email. Their robust knowledge base explains everything you need to know about building a website with A2 Hosting, step-by-step.
Winner: A2 Hosting
Bluehost vs. A2 Hosting – Pricing
Let’s take a look at a head-to-head comparison between the prices for different hosting options from Bluehost and A2 Hosting:
